Florida State too much for Louisville late, Cardinals fall 42-31

Florida State puts up 42 points, 35 coming in the second half, to run past Louisville 42-31.

Louisville had more than its fair share of opportunities to win tonight's game against #2 Florida State, but Jameis Winston and Florida State's talented freshmen were simply too much in the second half as the Seminoles overcame a 21-7 halftime deficit and a 24-7 third quarter deficit and won 42-31.

Much like the Virginia and Clemson losses, it will be hard not to look back at this one and lament the missed opportunities to put away such a good team. Louisville picked Jameis Winston off three times, got tremendous production from DeVante Parker and Michael Dyer, and still managed to have the lead with a chance to salt the game away with 6:00 to go and was unable to do it. As it has against every opponent since Winston became the starter, FSU got north of 31 points and Louisville couldn't keep up.

Louisville has ten days off to recover and prepare for a trip to what will likely be a frigid Boston College game. We'll have continuing analysis of the game tomorrow and throughout the rest of the weekend.
