Stanford defeats Boston College 30-20

The Stanford Cardinal picked up its first win of the season, a 30-20 conference victory over the Eagles. Stanford outscored Boston College 10-0 in the second half. The Cardinal defense turned three BC turnovers into 21 points. Running back Micah Ford led Stanford with 157 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Quarterback Ben Gulbranson completed 13 of 22 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Sam Roush caught three passes for 79 yards, including a 69 yard touchdown catch. For Boston College, Dylan Lonergan threw for 333 yards and a touchdown on 30-44 passing. Reed Harris caught seven passes for 141 yards.

Stanford falls 27-3 to BYU

Stanford vs. BYU: The Cardinal suffered a 27-3 loss on the road to the Cougars. Stanford was outgained 332-161 yards. Quarterback Ben Gulbranson completed 17 of 32 passes for 142 yards. Wide receiver Bryce Farrell caught five passes for 68 yards to lead the Cardinal. BYU running back LJ Martin ran the ball 18 times for 110 yards. Quarterback Ben Bachmeier was 17-27 for 175 yards and had a rushing touchdown.
