The Orange got things off to a good start in their 85-47 victory over Binghamton. Five 'Cuse players scored double digits as they shot 53.0% from the field as a team. Donnie Freeman paced the Orange with 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting with 6 rebounds. William Kyle III racked up 16 points, while freshman sensation Kiyan Anthony added 15 points and 3 assists. Naithan George set the table with 8 assists to go along with 14 points going 6 of 9 from the field.

UNC defeats Syracuse 27-10 for first ACC win of the season

Bill Belichick won his first career ACC game as the North Carolina Tar Heels went up north and defeated the Syracuse Orange, 27-10. This is the first game North Carolina has surpassed 20 points against an FBS opponent. Running back Demon June had 182 all-purpose yards with both a rushing and receiving touchdown. Quarterback Gio Lopez completed 15-19 passing for 216 yards with two touchdowns, plus he had 30 rushing yards. True-Freshman Joseph Filardi made his first career start for Syracuse. Filardi is a scholarship lacrosse player and a walk-on football player. He completed 4 of 18 passes for 39 yards.
