The 'Canes broke a two-game losing streak as they were able to earn a hard-fought 85-76 victory over Syracuse on the road. Miami had a +16 advantage on the boards, shot 61% from the field, and 54% from the three. They also held Miami to 6 of 21 shooting from beyond the arc. Malik Reneau paced the 'Canes with a double double consisting of 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. His teammates helped out as well as Shelton Henderson and Tre Donaldson each poured in 16 points. Five Syracuse players registered double figures, led by Donnie Freeman, who had 14 points.
