Pitt's Desmond Reid has come on the scene from Western Carolina and is making his case to be one of the country's best running backs. He paces the nation in all-purpose yards at 244.0 yards per game. Reid is 5th in the country in rushing yards per game (146.5) and is 8th in yards per carry (8.9). This past Saturday against Cincinnati, he became the first Pitt player ever to record 100 yards rushing and receiving in a contest. At 5'8" and 170 pounds, Reid packs a big punch in a small body. Konata Mumpfield came through in the clutch for Pitt with some huge plays, like his 38-yard score in the fourth quarter en route to 123 yards receiving, and 2 touchdowns.
