Wake Forest and Xavier Agree to Hoops Home-and-Home Series

Wake's non-conference schedule just got harder.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports is reporting that Wake Forest and Xavier have agreed to a home-and-home series. Wake Forest will host Xavier in Winston-Salem this year on December 22nd, with a return game taking place next year at Xavier.

Xavier went 22-14 last year and lost to Arizona in the Sweet 16. The Musketeers finished 22nd in KenPom. Xavier loses Matt Stainbrook, of Uber fame, but returns a host of talented players. Trevon Bluiett, Myles Davis, and Jalen Reynolds were all underclassmen last season and all finished with offensive ratings above 100. I expect Xavier to be a preseason top 20 team next season.

Wake's known non-conference opponents for next season include road trips to Rutgers and LSU, as well a home game against Arkansas. Wake Forest will also play in the Maui Invitational. That field also includes, Kansas, Indiana, UCLA, St. John's, UNLV, Vanderbilt, and Chaminade.

When one also considers the ACC opponents, it becomes obvious that Wake Forest is going to have a very difficult 2015-2016 season.
