ESPN’s College GameDay returns to Blacksburg. The pregame show will broadcast live from the Virginia Tech campus on Saturday for the Hokies’ matchup with the Clemson Tigers.

It’s been a decade since ESPN’s College GameDay has been to Lane Stadium. Hokie fans have been anticipating the decision, with the network announced the exciting news on Saturday night.
The writing was on the wall for College GameDay to return Virginia Tech after the Clemson game was named the primetime matchup,
The show will air from 9 a.m. until noon. The game will kickoff at 8 p.m. ET, and will be aired nationally on ABC.
Both teams have a record of 4-0, with both looking to remain undefeated. In week four, the Tigers defeated Boston College 34-7 and the Hokies blew out Old Dominion 38-0.
This will be a rematch of last season’s ACC title game, a game in which Virginia Tech gave the Tigers a run for their money in a 42-35 showdown. The Hokies have been improving all season and are not to be underestimated going into this game.
Virginia Tech and College GameDay:
In 1999, the Virginia Tech Hokies became the third school to be the host for College GameDay twice in the same season, opening for Virginia Tech victories over Syracuse and Miami.
ESPN and College GameDay broadcasted the first Tech game after the April 16th tragedy on September 1, 2007 vs East Carolina. It was a great show of unity after the horrific events.
College GameDay’s most recent Virginia Tech game was the 2016 Battle at Bristol vs Tennessee. A game in which the Hokies lost their 9th College GameDay appearance, bringing their record to 4-9 all-time.
The wait is finally over. Virginia Tech fans will be out in full force on Saturday and are more than ready to welcome College GameDay back to campus.
