Jim Boeheim shared his thoughts on last year's squad, next year's squad and a lot more...

Syracuse Orange basketball coach and tattoo likeness Jim Boeheim chatted with no-longer-disloyal idiot Andy Katz on Friday for a 10-minute discussion that covered a bit of ground. Let's see what coach was curmugeony about today...

On last year's squad:

"We were not a 25-0 team. We won four games that we had no business winning. We were six down with two minutes to go at Pittsburgh. N.C. State had the ball with 10 seconds to go. We had an unbelievable run.''

On the Dayton loss:

"We made one shot outside the lane. You're not going to win if you make one shot outside the lane.''

On who needs to step up next season:

"Rakeem Christmas. I think he's getting better all the time. Obviously, we have another freshman point guard (Kaleb Joseph) who we think is very good. We've got a lot of pieces. Trevor Cooney. Michael Gbinije. Guys who have been there. It would have been easier if one or two guys had come back, but that's college basketball. You have to be prepared for that.''

On the early NCAA deadline to declare for the NBA:

"There's no reason for an early deadline. If I lose a Jerami Grant in May, I'm not going to go get another Jerami Grant. I'm waiting for next year. Let him go work out (and) get an evaluation from NBA people. Let the pros tell them and then let them make a decision even if it's June 1 or June 15. That's simple. This is not a hard decision.''

Mike Waters has more quotes from Boeheim about USA Basketball, LeBron James and more.
