The MyGameSim college football rankings are refreshed after a wild Week 7, and the top of the board finally has a clean story. Ohio State sits alone at No. 1 after grinding out a 19-15 win at Indiana, a road scrap that felt every bit as heavy as the rankings suggested it would be.

It was not pretty. It did not have to be. The Buckeyes went into Bloomington, snapped Indiana's long home winning streak, and walked out with the clearest claim yet to the top spot in our model. Indiana still looks like a top-three team on efficiency (more on that in a minute), which is exactly why the win travels so well in a simulation-driven ranking.
The weekend that scrambled the Top 25
Saturday was chaos up and down the ranked slate. A few results did most of the heavy lifting in this update:
- No. 1 Ohio State held off Indiana, 19-15, in a game decided by inches on the final drive.
- Auburn stunned Georgia, 27-24, and still only climbed three spots. That tells you how strong Georgia's overall profile remains.
- BYU knocked off Notre Dame, 28-24, and jumped into the top six.
- Tennessee handled Alabama, 26-10, and vaulted into the Top 25.
- Florida stole one in Austin, beating Texas 27-24.
- Ole Miss flattened Missouri, 31-3, a result that dinged the Tigers hard in this week's board.
Biggest movers
Tennessee (+7, 27 to 20) is the clearest riser inside the Top 25. Beating Alabama at home by 16 is the kind of result our adjusted offense and defense numbers love, and the Vols finally punched through after hovering just outside the cut line.
SMU (+4, 22 to 18) and Wisconsin (+4, 21 to 17) also made healthy jumps. SMU took care of Virginia at home. Wisconsin dropped a defensive battle at UCLA, but enough of the middle of the board softened that the Badgers still climbed on overall profile.
BYU (+3, 9 to 6) and Auburn (+3, 19 to 16) earned their bumps the loud way. The Cougars are now 6-0 and sitting pretty after a signature win over Notre Dame. Auburn went into Athens and left with a ranked scalp, which is exactly how you force a computer ranking to take you seriously.
On the way down, Missouri (-6, 15 to 21) absorbed the biggest Top 25 hit after the Ole Miss blowout. Notre Dame (-3, 8 to 11) paid for the Provo loss. Utah slid all the way out of the Top 25 despite a narrow win at Colorado, a reminder that these rankings are about adjusted efficiency and schedule context, not just the W column.
One quirk worth flagging: Indiana rose from No. 5 to No. 3 even after the Ohio State loss. That is not the model being stubborn for sport. The Hoosiers still grade out as one of the strongest teams in the country on the underlying numbers, and Miami and Alabama both slipped a spot after imperfect Saturdays. Losing to the No. 1 team on your home field by four is not the same as getting exposed.

Georgia holding at No. 2 after an home loss to Auburn will raise eyebrows if you live in the poll world. In our rankings, one bad afternoon does not wipe out a season of elite adjusted offense. The Bulldogs are still the second-strongest team on the board until somebody proves otherwise over a larger sample.
Ohio State is the story, though. A road win over a top-five Indiana team, in a game that came down to a foot on the boundary, is exactly the kind of result that separates the top line from everyone else. The Buckeyes are No. 1 in the updated MyGameSim CFB rankings. Check back next Monday for the next shuffle.
