Rising junior Tyler Cavanaugh will transfer from the Wake Forest basketball team.

According to sources close to the basketball team forward Tyler Cavanaugh will transfer from Wake Forest. Cavanaugh played 21 minutes a game last year, scoring 8.8 points per game and 3.8 rebounds. Despite his size (6'9"), Cavanaugh spent a solid amount of time on the perimeter and attempted 67 threes over the course of the season, shooting 31% from outside the arc.

With an offensive efficiency of 102.5, Cavanaugh was the third most efficient player on offense for the Demon Deacons behind the two graduating seniors Travis McKie and Coron Williams. In addition to his three point shooting, Cavanaugh went to the free throw line 124 times and shot 79% from the charity stripe. He was widely expected to be a starter next season for Danny Manning, following a solid first two seasons with Wake.

Despite his inconsistency at times, Cavanaugh was one of the better players on the 2013-14 squad and will leave a big gap for Wake Forest at the forward position. It is unknown at this time where he will transfer, but stay tuned to Blogger So Dear for more information on the situation as we learn more about Cavanaugh's decision.
