Caleb Wilsin scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Tar Heels. Henri Veesaar finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. Jonathan Powell added 12 points. For Syracuse, Donne Freeman led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Naithan George had 14 points and four assists.
