Wake Forest Suspends Quarterback Kevin Sousa Indefinitely

Wake Forest has announced that reserve quarterback Kevin Sousa has been suspended indefinitely from the football team for a violation of team rules.

Sousa is a redshirt junior, who is out of Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida. He was the 23rd best dual-threat quarterback in the 2011 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com. Kevin was initially committed to University of Michigan, but ultimately chose Wake Forest over the Wolverines and the University of Miami. The former-prized-recruit has yet to attempt a pass during his Wake Forest career, despite a strong performance in the Deacs' Spring Game.

This suspension will probably have no impact on Wake Forest's on-field product. A potential downside, however, would be if both John Wolford and backup quarterback Tyler Cameron are sidelined with injuries at the same time that Sousa is suspended. This would mean Coach Clawson has to either burn freshman quarterback Travis Smith's redshirt, or play a walk-on.
