Game Recap

Earlier this week, we blogged about the need for Virginia Tech to win at Boston College.  Here’s what we said:

Virginia Tech “does not have a good road record” (awful) at Boston College – we’re looking at a horrific 2-11 all time at Boston College.  In fact, in 2009 and 2011, I’d say that losing at Boston College put a major dent in Virginia Tech’s NCAA hopes those years.  Why is it so hard to win at Boston College?  I have no idea – many people say that that place is like a hypnosis forum where you are lulled to sleep as a player.  This can’t happen to Virginia Tech.

BuzzToday, Virginia Tech defeated Boston College by the score of 91-75.  This is only Virginia Tech’s third ever win on the road at Boston College.

Guess who has two of them?  Buzz Williams (h/t @HokieSports).

Losing to Boston College might have put the Hokies back on bubble – there might still have been a path to the NCAA tournament, but losing to a 200+ RPI team can sometimes kill the NCAA tournament dreams of another foe (look at Georgetown and their loss to Arkansas State).   But that didn’t happen – Virginia Tech defeated Boston College.  And, in the process:

What a weekend for the Hokies!!!
