UNC's Offensive Coordinator Set to Become Head Coach at Arkansas State

Larry Fedora needs to hire a new offensive coordinator.

UNC's current offensive coordinator, Blake Anderson, has been offered and accepted the head coaching job at Arkansas State the school's athletic director has announced. Anderson will become the fifth head coach at Arkansas State in five years with the program recently becoming a launching pad for better jobs. Two current SEC coaches have had one year stints at Arkansas State before moving up. One was Hugh Freeze who is current the head coach at Mississippi. The other is Auburn's Gus Malzhan whose team is playing for the BCS title in January. Most recently Bryan Harsin left the Red Wolves to take the Boise State job opening up the position Anderson will now fill.

Anderson has been with Fedora since 2008 at Southern Miss serving as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. At UNC he has been responsible for working with Bryn Renner and Marquise Williams, both of whom have played well under his tutelage. Given the nature of the offense, filling the offensive coordinator position will be a critical hire for Fedora and replacing Anderson a difficult task.

No word right now as to whether Anderson will remain with UNC for the Belk Bowl on December 28th.
