North Carolina held its annual Spring Game on Saturday with the Blue knocking off White 34-10.

Bryn Renner led Blue with 16-27 passing for 216 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Renner hit a variety of targets throughout the game with Sean Tapley being the biggest beneficiary with 108 yards receiving and a touchdown. Quinshad Davis had three catches for 34 yards. Freshman Mitch Tribisky started at QB for the White Team going 7-14 for 88 yards with one interception. With Marquise Williams currently not enrolled at UNC, Tribisky has been tapped as the backup for Renner.

Of course the biggest question mark facing UNC heading into next season is at the running back slot. A.J. Blue and Romar Morris has been seen as the likely successors to Gio Bernard. Morris had 15 carries for 80 yards while Blue went for 30 yards and caught a 33-yard pass for a touchdown. However the buzz from the game surrounds Khris Francis, the freshman from Durham Hillside High School who has only been with the team since January. Francis started at RB for the White team and carried for 101 yards on 20 attempts. Granted it is only a Spring Game but that is an impressive outing for a player who is still getting his feet wet on the college level. Throw T.J. Logan into the mix when he arrives in August and Larry Fedora will have plenty of options in the backfield.

On the defensive side, there isn't much that can be determined from a game of this nature. The scoring was not as high as one would think for the Fedora offense however it is unclear if the defense was even the biggest factor there besides the interceptions.

The only other revelation from this game.was seeing new uniforms which can be seen here. There are several variations which include white, Carolina blue and black with Carolina blue lettering. The black uniform is set to be used for UNC's Thursday night game. That game is already being marketed as "Zero Dark Thursday" As is always the case there will be disparate opinions on the uniforms.
