The 11-seeded Mustangs picked up their 20th win of the season as they defeated the 14-seeded Orange, 86-69 in the 1st Round of the 2026 T. Rowe Price ACC Men's Basketball Tournament. SMU only led by one at halftime, but in the second half, Boopie Miller and Jaron Pierre Jr. took over the game for the Mustangs. Miller and Pierre scored 31 of SMU's 47 points in the second half. Syracuse as a team only scored 31 second half points. Miller finished the game with a game-high 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Pierre had 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Jaden Toombs had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. For Syracuse, Nate Kingz led the way with 25 points, six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal. Tyler Betsey hit five three-pointers and scored 15 points off the bench.
