The No. 13 Virginia Cavaliers held off a hard-fighting Virginia Tech Hokies team and escaped with a 76-72 win in the basketball edition of the Commonwealth Clash. The Cavs spread around the offense with Ugonna Onyenso and Malik Thomas each scoring 16 points, Sam Lewis adding 15, and Thijs De Ridder scoring 13 points for Ryan Odom's club. Ben Hammond led the Hokies with 21 points in the loss.
