The No. 6 Duke Blue Devils pulled away in the 2nd half of their season opener to beat the Texas Longhorns, 75-60. The two teams matched up in the 1st annual Dick Vitale Invitational in Charlotte, NC. Isaiah Evans began the game on fire, scoring 12 points in the first 10 minutes of the game. Evans finished with 23 points on 7-13 shooting, including 4-8 from three-point range. Freshman sensation Cameron Boozer overcame a scoreless first half to finish with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds with 3 steals and 2 assists in the win.
