Playing in their first true road game of the season, the Orange defeated the Yellow Jackets, 82-72. Syracuse led by as many as 20 in the second half, but Georgia Tech had a chance to cut the lead to under six with 45 seconds to go, but a block by William Kyle III on Baye Ndongo ended the Yellow Jackets' comeback effort. Syracuse's Donnie Freeman led all scorers with 27 points, to go with nine rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and a steal. Naithan George finished with 17 points, five assists, and two rebounds against his old team. Ndongo led Georgia Tech with 20 points and nine rebounds.
