Nebraska Transfer Andrew White III Visiting Syracuse

Syracuse could really use another scorer in the fold for the 2016-2017 season. Andrew White could provide just that for the Orange at the athletic wing can drive and shoot the basketball extremely well.

Andrew White III is currently visiting Syracuse University per Ben Sigel of CuseNation.com. White is a 6-foot-7 guard that averaged 16.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game last year at Nebraska.

White initially started out his college career at Kansas where he played two seasons but only averaged under seven minutes per game. White decided to transfer to Nebraska to play, he started all 34 games for the Cornhuskers and was named All-Big Ten honorable mention.

White is a very good perimeter shooter, shooting 41% from 3-point range. His length also allows him to get to the basket where he can finish over smaller defenders. White’s 6-foot-7 frame at the top of the zone would be a major asset for the Orange, where he could cause all kinds of problems for opponents. Although White is not much of a playmaker at guard (only averaging .6 assists per game) he certainly knows how to put the ball in the basket.

The addition of White could also be huge for Syracuse’s rotation. They would have 4 guards with Frank Howard, John Gillon, and Tyus Battle. Both Battle and White could also play small forward due to their size at the guard position.

White will be eligible immediately at whatever school he decides to transfer to. Sigel is also reporting that Louisville has been in contact with White, but its a good sign to see that he is visiting Syracuse now.

The Orange still have three scholarships available for the 2016-2017 season, meaning they could land both White and Taurean Thompson, should they decide on Syracuse.
