The NC State Wolfpack opened the 2025 college football season with a 24-17 victory over in-state foe East Carolina. Sophomore Quarterback CJ Bailey threw for 318 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another TD in the win. Hollywood Smothers rushed for 76 yards and a score, and Wide Receiver Wesley Grimes hauled in 4 catches for 121 yards that included a 48-yard touchdown grab. Next up for the Wolfpack is Virginia in Week 2.
