Syracuse's roster is getting a bit full for future years, but there's apparently always room aboard the S.S. Boeheim!
Monmouth guard Christian White has elected to transfer to Syracuse University, effective this upcoming season. The news was first reported by the New York State Sportswriter's Association last night, with a follow-up piece from Syracuse.com this morning. Christian, who's originally from nearby Rochester, N.Y., made the announcement via Twitter yesterday afternoon:

According to Donna Ditota's article above, he'll come in as a walk-on, but could potentially find is way toward some financial aid (according to SU head coach Jim Boeheim). We're all out of scholarships for 2015-16 (when he'd be eligible to play) at the moment, but as we all know -- you're never really sure when one or more of those spots ends up freeing up.

After a nice high school career at Aquinas Institute, White made his way to Monmouth, where he's spent the last two years as a reserve. In his freshman year, he shot 44-percent from the floor, scoring 3.5 points per game, with one assist per and nearly a rebound per game in a total of 314 minutes of action. As a sophomore, however, he seemingly fell out of favor and/or the depth chart, with minutes plummeting to just 4.3 per game and overall stats taking a nosedive across the board, too.
White stands at 5'10" and 180 pounds, and was considered a one-star prospect out of high school. Monmouth was his only offer coming out of high school, though he did have additional interest with Canisius, Cornell and Harvard (so you're saying he's smart?).
