Malachi Richardson Excited for Future at Syracuse

The McDonald's All-American SG out of New Jersey can't wait to arrive on campus this summer.

Syracuse Orange signee Malachi Richardson took some time from his McDonald's All-American experience and talked about his plans and expectations for when he arrives at Syracuse in the summer.

Malachi remained firm that he never even thought about decommiting when the NCAA sanctions were handed down. "I had no second thoughts on if I was going to decommit," Richardson said. "I knew I was going there once I committed and signed, so I wasn't really worried about the sanctions."

Out of the four Syracuse commits, all of whom fall in the ESPN Top 100 for the Class of 2015, Richardson is easily the most talked about as well as the most likely candidate for early playing time in his freshman season. In talking about his offseason preparation, he said "I just need to get bigger and stronger. My goal this summer is to work on things I need to work on before I get (to Syracuse) so I can be ready to go for Day One."

Richardson has also been trying to convince Thomas Bryant, a Syracuse top target and friend of his, to sign with Syracuse when he announces his decision following the conclusion of his high school season. During media day for the McDonald's All-America Game, he said "I've been talking to Thomas all week, see where his mind is at, where he really wants to go. I want to try to get him to come to Syracuse with us."

Are you excited to see Richardson (and possibly Bryant) suit up for the Orange? Let us know in the comments.
