Game Recap

In a game eerily reminiscent of Louisville's loss at Notre Dame earlier this month, the Cards squandered an 8-point second half lead and went ice cold in the final minutes as they fell to No. 12 Miami, 73-65. The defeat drops U of L two games behind North Carolina in the ACC standings, and all but ends their hopes of winning any part of the league's regular season title.

Quentin Snider came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points for Louisville, which shot 46.4 percent from the field on the afternoon. Trey Lewis added 13 points, but missed all five of his shot attempts in a final stretch of the game where the Cardinals went just 1 of 12 from the field.

Miami took full advantage, as the three-headed monster of Angel Rodriguez, Sheldon McClellan and Davon Reed made play after play in the game's final minutes to move the Hurricanes into second place all by themselves in the ACC. Rodriguez and Reed each finished with 17 points for Jim Larranaga's team, which was 8 for 11 from beyond the arc and shot 53.5 percent from the field overall.

Well, all that's left now is to honor the seniors the right way on Tuesday and then hope they can make a big parting statement a week from now. Just seven days of Louisville basketball left in 2015-16. Try to enjoy them as best you can.
