Keyshawn Woods Transfers to Wake Forest

The final scholarship spot is finally filled.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported this evening that Keyshawn Woods, who visited Wake Forest's campus today, has committed to play for the Demon Deacons. Woods will have to sit out this season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in the 2016-2017 season.

Woods transferred from Charlotte, where he averaged 8.4 points per game and shot 47% from deep last season. He had a very impressive offensive rating of 111.1, and an effective field goal percentage of 58.5%. In addition to his shooting, he's also a very good athlete. Woods will essentially be a fourth member of the 2015 recruiting class. Together, with Bryant Crawford, John Collins, and Doral Moore, they will form an even better 2015 class.

The addition of Woods also adds a new twist to the 2016 recruiting class. Manning and his staff have actively been recruiting a number of shooting guards, but it's now less necessary to recruit that position as heavily.  We will continue to monitor that situation. It also means that Rashad Muhammad of San Jose State will not be a Demon Deacon.

This is a very quality addition for Wake Forest, and Woods will make our program better.
