Colorado State transfer John Gillon has committed to Syracuse after visiting this weekend.

John Gillon -- who had narrowed his final three schools to Syracuse, Oklahoma and Texas A&M -- has committed to Syracuse for his final year of college basketball, per Ben Sigel. Gillon had visited Syracuse this weekend and his commitment was announced on Sunday afternoon and it looks like he'll be wearing number four in orange.

Gillon played his first year of college basketball at Arkansas Little Rock, but transferred to Colorado State after his freshman year. He then sat out a year before joining the Rams for two which leaves him with one year of eligibility remaining. Per graduate transfer rules, Gillon will be eligible immediately and should help fill the void in the backcourt, especially with Malachi Richardson's decision still pending.

Gillon averaged 13.2 points, 3.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds over the course of last season. Syracuse will now have at least three guards on scholarship next season with rising sophomore Frank Howard and incoming freshman Tyus Battle.

Gillon figures to have an immediate impact from the jump. Despite a drop is his three point field goal percentage this year, Gillon can shoot the ball. Should Richardson depart for the NBA, Syracuse will certainly need help from the three point line.
