Everett Golson Transfers to Florida State, Gets Another Crack at Syracuse

The guy who threw for 362 yards and four touchdowns against SU last season will get another chance to pad his stats this year.

Two of the worst things Syracuse Orange football saw last season were Everett Golson and the Florida State Seminoles.

They will see both again this year. This time, concurrently.

As expected, the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish signal-caller is transferring to FSU as a graduate fifth-year player. As such, he is eligible immediately and almost certainly step into the starting role vacated by Heisman Trophy winner and 2015 NFL Draft first pick Jameis Winston.

Last season, Golson torched Syracuse for 362 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-15 Notre Dame win in MetLife Stadium. It was his 2nd-best single-game yardage performance of the season and his best touchdown performance.

There are a lot of question for Golson as he transitions from Notre Dame's style to Florida State's, but one thing is not in question. Syracuse already had enough on it's plate when the Orange travel to Tallahassee on October 31. They certainly didn't need the added bonus of Golson staring back at them.
