The NCAA Basketball season is right around the corner and there are several teams with a legitimate shot at coming out of March Madness 2022 with the NCAA title. Let’s take a look at the teams with the best odds of winning.

Gonzaga Tigers

After a 30-0 season heading into the title game, Gonzaga was overmatched by the Baylor Bulldogs.  After losing the likes of Joel Ayayi, Corey Kispert, and Jalen Suggs, there is a bit of hesitancy picking Gonzaga this season. However, they are ranked first in the CBS Sports preseason top 25.  Returning is star player Drew Timme and guard Anderw Nembhard. They also added Chet Holmgren, ranked number two in the recruiting class.  The talent level on this team should still be tops in the nation.

Texas and UCLA

The UCLA Bruins added Peyton Watson to a roster that is returning four of its top offensive weapons. The Texas Longhorns is led by first-year coach Chris Beard and have added many recruits to a lineup that returns Andrew Jones and Courtney Ramey.  Both teams are bound to be frontrunners in their conferences and have a shot to overtake Gonzaga under the right circumstances.

Purdue and Alabama

The one-two combo of Trevion Williams and Jaden Ivey makes Purdue the team to beat in the Big Ten. Also returning to the mix are Sasha Stefanovic and Zach Edey to give Purdue four proven scorers.  The Crimson Tide of Alabama won the SEC Tournament last year and return Jahvon Quinerly and Jaden Shackelford, their two top scorers from last season.  They also added guard Nimari Burnett and five-star recruit J.D. Davison.

Kentucky, Kansas, and Duke

The Duke Blue Devils had a lackluster 13-11 campaign last season, but improved their roster by adding the likes of Theo John, Trevor Keels, AJ Griffin and Paolo Banchero. There is a real upside to Griffin and Banchero, which makes Duke a solid bet entering Mike Kryzewski’s final season as head coach.

Kentucky and Kansas rely heavily on transfer talent and experience. Bill Seif of Kentucky has a slew of guards who can put the ball in the hoops, while John Calipari of Kansas has a very experience, talented team both in the paint and from long range.

The current NCAAB odds to win the title are Gonzaga at +700, Michigan at +1200, Villanova at +1200 and UCLA at +1200.
