No. 5 Miami puts its unbeaten start on the line Saturday night when the Hurricanes travel to Wake Forest for the 13th meeting between the ACC programs.
Miami leads the all-time series 9-3 and is 4-0 all-time at Wake Forest. The Hurricanes enter the matchup after an explosive 856-yard offensive performance against Florida A&M, with quarterback Darian Mensah completing 91.1 percent of his passes for 653 yards and eight touchdowns without an interception this season. Miami’s defense has allowed just 13 points and 406 total yards through two games, while wide receiver Toney leads the ACC in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Wake Forest also enters at 2-0 after defeating Purdue in double overtime, marking the Demon Deacons’ first double-overtime victory in 12 years. Quarterback Lopez has thrown for 575 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions through two games.
