Columbia Grad Transfer Grant Mullins Chooses Cal Over Syracuse, Michigan

Grant Mullins made his decision yesterday on where he will continue his collegiate basketball career.

One of the pressing questions in these weeks following the end of the NCAA Tournament pertained to where Columbia University graduate transfer guard Grant Mullins would land. His short list included Michigan, California, and Syracuse.

Now we know. Mullins chose the Golden Bears yesterday afternoon, as first reported by ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Grant averaged 13.1 points per game and shot 43.1% from 3-point range last season for the Lions. Due to missing the majority of his junior season because of neck and head injuries, Mullins was granted another year of eligibility. The Ivy League doesn't redshirt their players, so Mullins had to find a school outside of the conference to transfer to in order to be able to play another year.

It would have been nice to have had him on the team this season as a potential three-point threat as a starter or off the bench. We, of course, wish him the best. And we turn our gaze to other grad transfer possibilities.
