It was the third time ever that Miami scored 49 points in the first half of a game. Miami was the first FBS team since 2012 to score on their first 11 drives, excluding a kneel-down to end the first half. Quarterback Darian Mensah was 14-of-15 for 252 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Malachi Toney caught four passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Freshman running back Javian Mallory ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.
