Another day, another wide receiver commitment for the Orange.

The Syracuse Orange have added yet another verbal commitment to the class of 2017. St Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) wide receiver Josh Palmer pledged to SU this evening, according to 247 Sports.

With recent Syracuse football camps around the country, and a bunch of visitors last weekend, it was expected that recruiting could pick up a bit, and so it has. Palmer makes for the third commit in the last four days, and the second wideout. Washington D.C.'s Nykeim Johnson announced his own decision yesterday.

While SU's other 2017 receivers, Nykeim Johnson and Sharod Johnson are both better suited for the slot, Palmer is a sure-fire X-receiver at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds. He's rated three stars, and is one of the top 100 or so players in the state of Florida, as well as one of the top 100ish receivers nationally, according to 247. Scout has him ranked in the top 80 among all wide receivers.

Palmer visited Syracuse, along with Pittsburgh and Maryland in the last couple weeks. He went with the Orange over offers from those two programs, as well as Purdue, Louisville, Nebraska, NC State, Illinois, Wake Forest and more.

Scout spoke to Palmer earlier in June:

"The facilities and the indoor field stood out to me at Syracuse. Also, they have really good educational support there, which is important.

"The coaching staff was very friendly and fun to be around too, and I really liked coach Babers and his offense. It's a really good system and I think I could do well there."

As Scout also notes, he's originally from Canada (Ontario), just like recent outside linebacker commit Tyrell Richards.

With the addition of Palmer, Syracuse now six players in the 2017 class, two of whom (Palmer and Sharod Johnson) play down in South Florida.
