While last week had the marquee ACC OOC games, and some successes with Florida State and Miami gaining top 10 wins in addition to Georgia Tech to going to Colorado and winning this week there are quietly more opportunities.
Duke gets a national TV game with top 15 Illinois, and I think they can play with the Illini. Top 20 SMU faces Baylor in an intriguing OOC game. Stanford goes and BYU, and that feels like a mismatch for the Cards.. Virginia Tech hosts Vanderbilt in a game that Brent Pry better win. BC heads to Michigan State in a national TV NBC game.
If the ACC goes 3-2, it would continue a credible to start to the non-conference portion of the season.
Even 2-3, is acceptable if one of them is Duke over Illinois.
During the OOC portion of the schedule is where conference narratives are set, and the conference needs to keep producing wins.
Who’s ready for Week 2?
