The sims ran it 500 times. They kept getting the same answer.

Tonight, 8:30 PM ET: Dallas Stars at Colorado Avalanche. Two teams with real Stanley Cup aspirations, early-season measuring-stick game, the whole deal. And MyGameSim just doesn't think it's close.
The projection: Colorado 3.2, Dallas 2.3. Across 500 simulations, the Avs win this going away — nearly a full goal of separation. In hockey, that's not a lean. That's a statement.
Here's my take: Colorado is a tier above, and tonight everyone finds out
Look, Dallas is good. That's precisely what makes this number scary. When the sims give a quality team like the Stars barely two goals on the road in Denver, they're not predicting a bad night — they're telling you the Avalanche, at home, at altitude, are operating on a different level right now.
Early-season hockey is supposed to be chaos. Rosters gelling, goalies finding rhythm, nobody's identity set yet. The model doesn't care. Five hundred runs, same story: Colorado's depth buries Dallas's.
Is it gospel? Of course not — one hot goaltender nukes any projection, and that's the beauty of October hockey. But if you're looking for the first "okay, these guys are the team to beat" moment of the season, the sims just circled tonight in red ink.
🎰 Perry's line: Avalanche win, and it's not as close as the standings suggest. Dallas covers nothing. Take the over on Colorado team total and thank the altitude.
Quick second take: Milwaukee's October dream dies in Chavez Ravine
Brewers at Dodgers tonight, and the sims are blunt about it: Los Angeles 4.9, Milwaukee 3.7. In October. At home. That's not a prediction, that's a eulogy with a box score attached.
Milwaukee doesn't need a game plan tonight — they need a miracle. The Dodgers' lineup in a home playoff game is the closest thing baseball has to a force of nature, and 100 sims agree: the Brewers are bringing a knife to a howitzer fight.
One more for the road
Capitals 3.5, Canadiens 2.3 in Washington. The sims barely respect Montreal on the road, and honestly? Neither do I. Some nights the model and the eye test hold hands.
All scores above are MyGameSim projections — the games haven't been played yet. Run your own sims and tell me where the model is wrong. I dare you.
