The redshirt junior and second leading scorer for Wake Forest will not play tomorrow in Chestnut Hill.
The quest to get to 2-1 in the ACC just got a little bit tougher for Wake Forest, as Danny Manning revealed last night to Stan Cotten on his radio show that Keyshawn Woods would not be available tomorrow against Boston College in Chestnut Hill.
Woods, the second leading scorer for Wake Forest at 14.8 PPG (and really the leading scorer because he played just 3 minutes against Syracuse, but that counts as a game obviously), banged his knee early on in the game against the Orange and apparently it is taking longer to heal than thought.
Evidently on his radio show tonight Coach Manning confirmed that leading scorer Keyshawn Woods will not play at Boston College on Saturday

While I don’t think this is a long-term injury that we need to worry about (guessing it’s just a knee contusion), this makes the game tomorrow a lot more difficult. Boston College is already a three point favorite according to KenPom, and losing a big scoring threat will not help at all.
What this will do, in my opinion, is somewhat force the hand of Coach Manning to give Chaundee Brown some more minutes, particularly to guard the sensational 6-5 Jerome Robinson, who is a very big scoring threat out of the SG position. Against Cuse most of these minutes went to Mitchell Wilbekin and Bryant Crawford, who played 36 and 37 points respectively, but against a team like BC I think Brown will play a bigger role.
Brown excelled in the game that Woods missed earlier in the season against Quinnipiac, scoring 16 points and grabbing 7 rebounds en route to a KenPom MVP designation.
Hopefully this is a one-game absence for Woods and he will be back for Virginia Tech on Wednesday in Winston-Salem.
