Go ahead and put November 13th, 2015 on your calendar, that's when UNC will tip-off the 2015-16 season.

North Carolina will tip off the 2015-16 basketball season by headlining the 2015 Veterans Classic, an annual showcase at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., that brings together top teams from across the country in celebration of Veterans Day.  The Tar Heels will face Temple at 7 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2015, followed by Florida versus Navy at 9:30 p.m. Both games will be televised nationally by the CBS Sports Network.

In addition to the games, the three participating schools will have the rare opportunity to get a glimpse of what life is like as a midshipman at the Naval Academy.  The visiting teams will be immersed in the culture and tradition of the Naval Academy, including touring the "Yard," watching noon meal formation, eating lunch with the Brigade at King Hall, as well as a number of other unique experiences, including military demonstrations and receptions. CBS Sports Network will provide a look at the schools’ visit to the Naval Academy on Hoops Confidential: Veterans Classic, a 30-minute all-access show.

This will mark the first time since 2011-12 that UNC has opened the season away from the Smith Center. That season the Tar Heels faced Michigan State on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson in the Carrier Classic in San Diego harbor.

UNC's meeting with Temple will be just the seventh between the two schools. The series is tied at 3-3. The last meeting came in 1991 when UNC knocked off the #10 seeded Owls in the East Regional Final to advance to the Final Four for the first time in nine seasons.

The Owls finished ranked 54th in KenPom and lost to Miami in the NIT Semifinals to finish 26-11 overall.
