Game Recap

The Maryland Terrapins really took it to UNCG on Wednesday with a 99-56 victory. Right from the opening tip Maryland played with a chip on their shoulder. The game got out of hand quickly, and Maryland ran away with a 43 point victory.

Jordan Williams
had yet another dominant performance with 23 points and 13 rebounds. He is only a sophomore, but just by watching him I can tell he is already a leader out there. Terrell Stoglin continued his great play with 18 points on 6 for 10 shooting. If he can cut down on his turnovers (4), Stoglin will probably be starting by the end of the year.

I thought Adrian Bowie played a lot better than he has been. He added 16, and showed what he can do on both sides of the ball. His body language really looked better, and his performance followed suit. Its clear that he is the 3rd best point guard on this team, but he should still be getting significant minutes off ball. Cliff Tucker also added 13 in an improved performance. The play of Tucker will be huge during the ACC season.

Sean Mosley
struggled yet again on the offensive end. He had 6 points and committed 4 turnovers. I've been saying it all year, but I cannot stress enough how important Sean is. I really hope he can figure this out by Sunday in the Terps ACC opener. Dino Gregory seemed invisible yet again, and only pulled down 4 rebounds. That said, Dino's rebounding has really improved, and hopefully he can continue it against BC.

I thought James Padgett really played well in his increased playing time. He had 9 rebounds, and I liked some of his post moves he showed. If he can smoothen out his offensive game, he will be a force later this season and in the coming years. Mychal Parker had a pretty good game in his 11 minutes. Its good to see him gaining more experience because he will no doubt be a good player for years to come. Gary even said earlier this season that he can't keep talent like that on the bench. Parker is very athletic, and he even pulled down 5 rebounds against UNCG. Albeit UNCG is 0-8, but its a start.

The Terps played well tonight. UNCG is a cupcake team, but it was good to see some of the stuggling guys get back on track. The free throw shooting was better at 62% (23 for 37), and they turned the ball over 15 times. Bottom line, the Terps got the job done against a team they were suppose to beat.

Maryland has Boston College this Sunday in their ACC opener. Hopefully the new look gold jerseys will come out for the ACC season. BC lost to Yale, but the ACC season is a its own brand new season: Anything can happen.
