The #18 Tar Heels picked up their 23rd win of the season as they defeated the Hokies, 89-82. The North Carolina bench outscored the Virginia Tech bench, 32-13. 15 of those UNC bench points came from Jonathan Powell, who scored 15 points with four made three-pointers. Henri Veesaar tied a career-high with 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Seth Trimble added 20 points. Virginia Tech's Tobi Lawal had a couple of incredible dunks and finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Neoklis Avdalas led the Hokies with 19 points, five assists, and three rebounds
