The Hokies got a block from Izaiah Pasha on an Elon 3-point attempt as time expired to secure a hard fought 82-81 overtime victory at home. They outscored Elon 37-29 in the second stanza after trailing at half 43-35. VT forced 15 second half turnovers and scored 12 points off of them. Five Virginia Tech players went for double figures led by Amani Hansberry who scored 20 points to go with 14 rebounds and 2 steals. Christian Gurdak and Ben Hammond combined for 32 points and 8 rebounds on the afternoon.
