The Virginia Tech Hokies were tested early but pulled away late to beat the Bryant Bulldogs, 78-61. Five players scored in double figures for Mike Young's club, with Tobi Lawal leading the way with 18 points on 7-10 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds, a block and a steal in the win. Lawal played above the rim the entire game, with a handful of highlight-worthy dunks. Freshman Christian Gurdak scored a career-high 15 points on 7-9 shooting with 8 rebounds while Neoklis Avdalas and Ben Hammond each scored 11 points and Tyler Johnson chipped in 10 points for the Hokies.
