Game Recap

Once again, the home team reigns supreme in the ACC.

The Syracuse Orange tipped off against the Boston College Eagles for the second time in as many weeks from the Carrier Dome today. After suffering defeat in the first game, Syracuse earned a 76-53 victory at home in the rubber match.

Taurean Thompson got things started for Syracuse by scoring the Orange’s first six points. Although some turnovers weren't forced, Boston College had 15 (!) first half turnovers against the 2-3 zone. As such, Syracuse went into the break leading 35-22 behind nine points from both Andrew White and Tyus Battle.

Things trended similarly in the second half as Syracuse clamped down on defense, forcing BC into tough shots and turnovers. Tyler Lydon got rolling in the second by hitting from the mid range when BC went zone and by getting on the offensive glass. The game never became close throughout as Syracuse trotted to victory.

Stats

Battle led the way with 21 points while Lydon and White had 16 and 13, respectively. Thompson finished with 10 points and Tyler Roberson had 6 points, 6 rebounds and brought great energy.

Syracuse finished the game shooting 46.6 percent from the floor while holding BC to 39.6 percent shooting. BC finished with 20 turnovers in the game and only 11 assists.

Next Up

Syracuse has a quick turnaround as it heads down to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina on Monday. That tips at 7 pm and will air on ESPN.
