In the Bill Walsh Legacy Game, the Stanford Cardinal defeated the San Jose Spartans, 30-29. Stanford trailed 29-21 with under six minutes to go. Emmet Kenney hit a 36-yard field goal to cut the lead to 29-24 with 5:54 to go. And then quarterback Ben Gulbranson led the Cardinal on a game-winning drive that was capped off by a Sedrick Irvin touchdown with 20 seconds left in the game. Gulbranson finished the game 29-43 for 444 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver CJ Williams caught 12 passes for 138 yards. Caden High caught five passes for 110 yards. For San Jose State, quarterback Walker Eget completed 36 of 58 passes for 473 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Danny Scudero caught 11 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and Kyri Shoels caught 10 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown.
