Petrino: 'There's A Good Chance' DeVante Parker Plays Against Clemson

The news Louisville football fans have been waiting more than a month to hear may have come on Monday afternoon.

During his weekly press conference, Bobby Petrino said there is "a good chance" that star wide receiver DeVante Parker will make his 2014 debut this Saturday at Clemson. Parker suffered a fifth metatarsal fracture in his left foot on Aug. 22, and has not dressed for the first six games of the season.

"Yeah, there's a good chance," Petrino said when asked about Parker playing this weekend. "He's been out there running routes for over a week. The team has an off day today, but he'll practice tomorrow and we'll see how he does the rest of the week."

Parker, the lone Cardinal to receive preseason first team All-ACC honors, led Louisville last season with 885 receiving yards and set a school record with 12 touchdown receptions. Parker needs just six touchdown catches this year to become U of L's career-leader in that category.

Things just got a bit more interesting.
