NCAA investigators still interviewing in regards to Louisville basketball scandal

It seems like we just can’t get away from this dark cloud over the basketball team.

Turns out that the NCAA and its investigators are still conducting interviews, and last week held interviews for U of L boosters. Many, including Rick Pitino, thought that the investigation would come to a close a while back. Pitino himself was rumored to be interviewed back in April, though he himself can’t reveal whether he has met with the NCAA or not.

At this point, I just want this to be over with already. We all know the accusations, theories, and conspiracies. U of L has been proactive in trying to get to the truth of all this by hiring Chuck Smrt, and following his advice, self-imposed sanctions with a postseason ban and scholarship reductions.

For the most part, it seems like the NCAA always finds “something” when investigating a program, so it’s no surprise that Chuck Smrt found some wrongdoing within the program, causing the school to take action with punishments. What the NCAA itself will find and what sanctions they will deal out, well, who knows. There have been a wide variety of speculations all the way from “Well, they didn’t punish UNC’s basketball team, so they can’t punish us!” to “Oh my god, we are going to get the death penalty!” and everything in between. So, it’s anyone’s guess.

Thank god for the Lamar Jackson hype train to get our minds off this.
