Louisville ranked No. 5 in new College Football Playoff Rankings

After the most chaotic weekend of the 2016 college football season to date, Louisville still finds itself on the outside looking in of the latest College Football Rankings.

Despite three teams in front of them tasting defeat last Saturday, the selection committee only moved the Cardinals up one spot from No. 6 to No. 5. The current top four is comprised of No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Clemson. Washington, which lost at home to USC last weekend, fell from No. 4 to No. 6.

Like I said earlier today, this isn't cause for extreme concern. There's still a guaranteed loss ahead of Louisville, and several scenarios at play that weren't in the game this time a week ago. What is a bit concerning is the added love that the CFP showed to the Pac-12 this week, and the fact that Florida State only moved up one spot. Washington is still very much in play, and the likelihood of the committee showing love to a 2-loss Big Ten champion (Penn State/Wisconsin) is very real.

All that said, I love that we have a pissed off team headed to Houston tomorrow.

Here are your new CFP Rankings:

25. Texas A&M

24. Stanford

23. Florida

22. Washington State

21. Western Michigan
