Louisville landed the top graduate transfer in college basketball a year ago when Drexel's Damion Lee picked the Cards over just about every major program in America. Now, U of L is in the mix to land arguably the most sought-after graduate transfer for 2016-17.

Canyon Barry, who averaged 19.7 ppg for Charleston this past season, has Louisville among his list of seven finalists to host him for his senior season.

Barry, the son of former NBA great Rick Barry, shot 40.2 percent from the field in 2015-16 and scored 30 or more points in three of the 13 games he appeared in. He suffered a shoulder injury against William & Mary on Jan. 2, and was officially ruled out for the rest of the season after having surgery on that shoulder on Jan. 20.

Barry is an extremely gifted offensive player, but let's not overlook the biggest benefit of having him join Louisville for 2016-17: two (assuming Nanu comes back) players on the same team who shoot granny style free-throws. We need this.
