The #13 Yellow Jackets improved to 6-0 on the season after defeating the Hokies, 35-20. It's their first 6-0 start since 2011. Georgia Tech running back Malachi Hosley had a career-best rushing performance, running for 129 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Haynes King was 20-24 for 213 yards and a touchdown. King also ran the ball 14 times for 60 yards and two touchdowns. King surpassed quarterback Joe Hamilton on the Georgia Tech career rushing yards list. Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 13-21 passing. He also had 83 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
