CBSSports puts out an interesting ranking of the collegiate athletic programs each year. They weight football and men’s basketball the heaviest, then women’s basketball and the best performance from two wild card sports results. That’s pretty fair given the importance of football and basketball. I’d probably weigh baseball a bit more, but overall this is a pretty good job by CBSSports.

Florida State finished at the the top. Louisville was 7th, UNC – 12th and Clemson was 14th. That gave the ACC 4 of the top 15 athletic programs according to this listing, the most of any conference.
A notable effort was given by Wake Forest who finished 29th on the list, ahead of schools like Texas A&M, Arizona, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas and Georgia.
