Let's take a look at the upcoming season for Louisville football.

Louisville
Louisville has been a program flirting with having a truly special season each of the last two years. They’ve won 19 games, going 10-4 and 9-4 and having a 12-4 ACC record. They beat Kentucky last year and took Clemson to the woodshed in Death Valley as well. The beatdown at Clemson was so complete that it made my jaw drop. I should know, I was there watching it live. Louisville enters 2025, it seems still flying under the radar, and they shouldn’t be. Louisville’s 2023 and 2024 combined seasons are only behind Clemson in the ACC. You need to be paying attention to what Brohm is and what is building at Louisville.
Will Go 11-1 (7-1) if:
QB Miller Moss and Louisville as a whole can play consistently at the high level we’ve sometimes seen. We’ve already talked about how good Louisville looked against Clemson, only to lose at Stanford 2 weeks later. The year before, they beat Notre Dame only to lose their final 3 games of the year after a 10-1 start. QB Miller Moss, the transfer from USC, at times looked like one of the best QBs in the country, but was prone to inconsistency. Isaac Brown could be an All-American RB. If the pass defense can improve, and the offense doesn’t have to carry such a load, then the schedule sets up well overall. I can see Louisville winning 2 of 3 from Miami, SMU, and Clemson, and then running the table on the rest.
Will Go 8-4 (4-4) if:
Louisville’s defense can improve on a total ranking of 64th from 2024. The Cardinals have proven they can be pretty good with an OK defense. What can they do with a good one? Well, just an OK defense leads to getting upset. Games at Miami and at SMU are tough. Clemson will not be easy, and it just takes another upset along the way for Louisville to have only a decent season rather than a great one. The offense has a ton of turnover, and if it doesn’t gel, Louisville won’t reach its lofty goals. When your floor is 8-4, though, that just proves what Brohm has done with this program.
