The line opened at 10, but is already down to 7.5 across Vegas.
Despite heading into this weekend’s game with an 0-2 record, the Florida State Seminoles opened as a 10 point favorite over the 4-0 Wake Forest Demon Deacons. It appears that the line has already been bet down to -7.5 in most places, meaning the early money is on the undefeated home team.
I guessed that the line would open around 9.5 on Saturday, so this is right in line with where I was mentally on the game. Florida State is obviously still a very talented team with some bizarre circumstances faced so far this season with the loss of QB Deondre Francois and Hurricane Irma.
This will be the first televised game of the year for Wake Forest, landing a national spot on ABC at 3:30, providing for an excellent stage to show off to the country with a chance to get to 5-0.
It will be interesting to see how the line fluctuates as the week goes on, but I think it will likely head back up towards 10 before settling at 8.5-9 at kickoff in favor of the Seminoles.
